Connect Claude to your trips
Claude can answer questions about your trips — where you’re staying, what’s next, what a trip cost, how many points you used — by reading them from SirTripsALot. It reads; it never changes anything.
What it can and can’t see
- It can read your trips and their bookings — times, places, confirmation codes and prices, and for an award the program, the points and the cash fare — what you’ve spent, the countries you’ve visited, and your days in Europe.
- Bookings filed from a connected mailbox are included: it sees the booking details read from those emails, never the emails themselves or their attachments.
- It can’t see your travel documents (passport, visas, vaccination records), other travelers on a booking, your notes and debriefs, or your emails.
- It can’t change anything: no booking, cancelling, editing or adding.
What Claude does with what it reads is governed by Anthropic’s own terms. The privacy policy says the same in full.
In claude.ai
- In claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector. Name it SirTripsALot, and for its address paste
https://sirtripsalot.com/api/mcp. Then Add. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner of the plan may need to add it first. - Choose Connect. A SirTripsALot page opens. Sign in if it asks — with the account your trips are in.
- The page says what Claude can and can’t see. If that’s what you want, choose Allow, and you’re taken back to claude.ai.
- Ask in any chat, with SirTripsALot switched on in the chat’s tools: “Where am I staying next, and when do I check out?”
In Claude Code
- In a terminal, run:
claude mcp add --transport http sirtripsalot https://sirtripsalot.com/api/mcp - Start
claude, type/mcp, pick sirtripsalot and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens the same SirTripsALot page: sign in if it asks, then Allow. - Ask about your trips by name, for example “On my trips, what’s next?”
Things to ask
- Where am I staying, and what’s next?
- Show me the whole itinerary for my next trip.
- How much did my last trip cost, and how many points did I use?
- Which countries have I been to?
- How many days do I have left in Europe?
- Find my booking with confirmation code ABC123.
Disconnecting
In SirTripsALot, open Settings → Connections → AI assistants and choose Disconnect beside it. From then on it can’t read anything, until you allow it again.
Disconnecting inside claude.ai only makes Claude forget its own key; SirTripsALot still lists it. And connecting again adds a new entry rather than reusing the old one. If you see two with the same name, each shows the time it was connected — disconnect the older one.
Other assistants
So far SirTripsALot has been used with Claude, in claude.ai and Claude Code. Other assistants that can add a remote connector and sign in to it may work the same way, but nobody has tried them yet, so this page doesn’t promise it.
If something goes wrong
The page says “This request has ended”
It was already answered, or it waited too long. Start again from Claude with Connect.
Claude says your sign-in has expired
The connection was disconnected, from SirTripsALot’s Settings or from Claude. Connect again from Claude: in claude.ai, Settings → Connectors; in Claude Code, /mcp and Authenticate.
Claude answers about the wrong account’s trips
The page that asked you to Allow says which account you were signed in as. If it was the wrong one, disconnect it in that account’s Settings, sign out of SirTripsALot in that browser, sign in to the right account, and connect again.
