SirTripsALot on your Apple Watch

Pending testing. The Watch app has run in Apple’s simulator but hasn’t yet been tried on a real Apple Watch. If you have one, try it and tell us what you see — that’s how it gets checked.

What it shows

  • The app shows what’s next on your trips — the same as the iPhone’s Home Screen widget: the next booking with a countdown, where you’re staying now, and what comes after.
  • On a watch face, a complication named Next up shows the next booking and how long until it, in a rectangular or a one-line slot.
  • It reads only what your iPhone sends it. The Watch doesn’t sign in or go online for SirTripsALot, so it shows the last update your phone gave it.

What you need

  • An Apple Watch paired with the iPhone that has SirTripsALot, on watchOS 10 or later.
  • SirTripsALot on that iPhone, signed in, with at least one trip.

Install it

  1. On your iPhone, open Apple’s Watch app and go to My Watch.
  2. Scroll to Available Apps, find SirTripsALot, and tap Install. If it’s already under Installed on Apple Watch, your Watch installed it on its own.
  3. Open SirTripsALot on your iPhone once, so it sends your trips to the Watch. Then open SirTripsALot on the Watch.

If the Watch says “Open SirTripsALot on your iPhone to see what’s next.”, it hasn’t had an update yet: open the app on your iPhone with the Watch nearby, and give it a minute.

Add it to a watch face

  1. Touch and hold the watch face, then tap Edit.
  2. Swipe to Complications and tap the slot you want.
  3. Choose SirTripsALot, then Next up. Press the Digital Crown to finish.

Faces with a rectangular slot (such as Modular) show the most; a one-line slot shows the booking and its countdown.

On a travel day

On the day you fly, the flight card the iPhone shows on its Lock Screen can appear in your Watch’s Smart Stack on its own (watchOS 11 and later). That comes from the iPhone, not the Watch app.

Tell us what you see

Because this hasn’t been tested on a real Watch, every report helps — what worked, what didn’t, and a photo if you can. Write with your Watch’s model and watchOS version.

Please never send passwords, card numbers, or passport scans. We’ll never ask for them.
